SPAN 510: Acquisition of Spanish as a Second Language

This course offers an overview of the principles of modern second language acquisition (SLA) research, specifically applied to the learning of Spanish. The main objective of this course is to provide the background knowledge to understand the psycholinguistic principles at work in world language learning, how these principles appear in the acquisition process, and the acquisition of different components of language.

Term: This is a Fall II course. Participants may register for one Full Semester course OR one course each in Fall I and Fall II.

Prerequisite(s): Licensed to teach secondary Spanish in Indiana, BA in Spanish or a related field or proof of Spanish proficiency. Prospective students will be required to submit their Teaching Philosophy in Spanish.
